Returns Policy
Items purchased on Smythson.com in a new and saleable condition may be returned for exchange or refund within 28 days of purchase. Items must be accompanied by the original proof of purchase and documentation, as well as re-packaged in original packaging. A complimentary pre-paid label will be included inside the original packaging, for you to return your item(s), please ensure you keep hold of this; valid for UK-based returns only.
Once our Customer Service team receives your return we will aim to process it within 28 days.
For refunds or exchanges on in-store purchases, please refer to the details on your store receipt. In-store purchases must be returned to the store they were originally purchased from and should not be sent to Customer Services.
Please ensure that all Smythson.com returns sent to our Customer Service team are handled by an insured carrier. Smythson cannot be held liable for any returned items that fail to arrive.
Any items that are returned outside of the return period, damaged or worn or sent without the original documentation will not be accepted and will be returned to the customer.
Gift recipients are entitled to a merchandise exchange or online gift card. Exchanges will only be offered at the current retail price for items that are in perfect condition, with the original packaging, and are part of non-discontinued collections or lines.
We regret that we are unable to offer any form of refund or exchange for personalised stationery or leather products. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Online Returns Process
We are happy to accept returns from UK-based customers in line with the above returns policy. Items must be returned within 28 days from the date of purchase.
If you believe you’ve received a faulty or damaged item, please first contact us at enquiries@smythson.com or 0207 629 8558.
To make a return from the UK only:
- Fill in the delivery note, indicating the reason for your return, and include it inside the parcel.
- Securely place your item(s) inside the original packaging.
- Send your parcel using the pre-paid label (waybill):
a) Arrange a DHL pick-up from your UK home address using the following link.
b) Or visit your local UK-based DHL drop-off point. To find your nearest location please visit DHL's website. - We kindly ask that you request a receipt upon delivery to track the parcel if needed.
